Item # 15 A Pen
Item 015 is a fun “Panache” ball point pen. This pen is made of curly maple saved from the bargain bin at Rockler’s. If you look closely at the grain the pen seems to have curves where the outside of the pen is flat to the touch. This is the “curl” in curly maple. The beautiful grain pattern glows through the cyanoacrylate (super glue) finish.
The pen measures 5 ¼ inches long ¾ inches at the widest point. This unique writing instrument is simply finished with shellac and polished with a mixture of beeswax and mineral oil. The ink cartridge can be accessed by unscrewing the fountain tip, which is currently filled with black ink.
