Item 35 A Chalice
Item 035 is a lidded chalice with a really tight fitting lid. The finial on top is made from spalted gum tree wood that was a cast-off from the local mill. The cup body is made from locally sourced spalted cherry wood and the base is made from mahogany wood saved from the bargain bin at Rockler’s.
This item measures 9 ¼ inches tall and 3 inches at the widest point. The “cup” part measures 2 ½ inches deep and 2 ½ inches wide (inside diameter). This item is finished with shellac and polished with a mixture of mineral oil and beeswax.
