Item 004 is a fountain pen. This pen is made red oak harvested from a tree that fell on a neighbor’s house a few years ago. If you look closely at the pen joint, I recessed the tip into the handle a bit, altering the pen kit.

The pen measures 5 ½ inches long and 3/4 inch at the widest point. This unique writing instrument is simply finished with shellac and polished with a mixture of beeswax and mineral oil. The ink cartridge can be accessed by unscrewing the fountain tip, which is currently filled with black ink.
